Wi-Fi and network troubleshooting

How do I connect the LEAP-UNA to Wi-Fi?

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet.
  • Enable Wi-Fi. The stick will scan for nearby networks.
  • Select your network, enter the password, and select Connect.

Warning: Routers using Wi-Fi 6 with WPA3 security are not supported by the LEAP-UNA. If your router uses WPA3, switch it to WPA2 (or WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode) before connecting.

Which Wi-Fi bands does the LEAP-UNA support?

The LEAP-UNA supports dual-band Wi-Fi 5 (IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac): 2.4 GHz (802.11 b/g/n) and 5 GHz (802.11 a/n/ac). Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) is not supported on this model.

The Wi-Fi connection fails.

  • Check the password is correct.
  • If your router uses WPA3, switch it to WPA2 mode — WPA3 is not supported.
  • Restart the router and retry.
  • Use the HDMI extender cable to move the stick away from potential interference.

The Wi-Fi connection is unstable or slow. What can I do?

  • Move the TV (and the stick) closer to your router.
  • Use the HDMI extender cable to move the stick away from the TV port, which can reduce Wi-Fi interference from the TV's own electronics.
  • Switch to 5 GHz if your router is close, or to 2.4 GHz for better range through walls.
  • Restart your router and the LEAP-UNA (unplug and replug the power cable).
